Ashley sat down on a bench looking up to the sky, she had a book beside her. She was about halfway through The Storm of Ellie. It was a pretty short novel, but still impressively written. But, right now, she was too distracted to read on about Ellie. Her low-cut denim jeans, an white t-shirt and a black sweater with a forest green blazer were enough to make her comfortable in the current temperature. No heels this time; how impractical would that be? Trying to walk a long distance with heels... talk about stupidity. In their stead was a pair of comfy pumas since she had just finished a walk around the place.
She sighed, staring out into the seemingly vast extensions of the sky. Looking at all the different size clouds and the shapes they made. Ashley could not believe that she was spending her time here instead of meeting more people but what could she do. A little current of wind was enough to blow a few loose, blonde tendrils of hair into her face. It tickled her nose, almost making her sneeze. She hated that feeling; the sensation that you had to sneeze but nothing would come out. The sneeze though slowly dissolved in her nasal passage, and she was fine.
A sigh escaped Ashley’s mauve lips once again. No longer was she lost in thought, so her eyes fell back to her side were her book sat. Ellie's mom was lying for her other daughter, Gwen? It was obviously some sort of scheme. There's now way a neglectful, malicious mother like Ellie's and Gwen's would lie about something like that for the sake of her children. No; she must be storing it away for future blackmail against Gwen. Not many people came to sudden realizations when what they were doing was wrong. Their mom was no exception.
Ashley's thoughts drifted off again. This time, to her grandmother. The one she had never met. For some reason, she never had wanted to meet her granddaughter, or any of her grandchildren for that matter. It wasn't their fault that her mom had them at only seventeen. And even though such things were morally wrong, the pair did get married. Then they had Ashley and her twin. Some people were just so... hard. She did have her dad's mother, though, who offered plenty of love. Enough to make up for her other grandmother's lack of devotion. Ashley then laughed at her self and she pushed her body up, more to be sitting up straighter, and shoved her small book into her purse.
Ashley at first pondered on what she was to do now, with all the time she had. Her eyes scanned the courtyard, seeing no one and she secretly hoped that someone would enter this area, where she could meet some more people at the school. Her right hand slowly came up and brushed away a few strands of hair as she stayed sitting for a second as she pondered once more about what to do.
